Dr. Justin Franson, DPM isn’t shy about his love for working with patients, and it shows in his work! “I love being able to provide true relief for the physical problems that people come see me about. I am one of those people who truly enjoy the personal interactions with my patients.”

During his time at Brigham Young University, Dr. Franson ditched his accounting books to pursue his passion - physical therapy. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree, he decided to take his interest in the specialized needs of athletes to the next level. His admiration for the complexities of the foot and ankle brought him to North Chicago, where he attended the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine.

Upon graduation in 2001, Franson accepted a three-year residency program at the Greater Los Angeles VA and UCLA County Hospital. He spent much of his residency-training program in the hospital, providing services in the clinics and emergency room as well as the operating room.

Dr. Franson is a Board-Certified Podiatric Foot and Ankle Specialist and his expertise ranges from sports injuries such as ankle sprains and foot and ankle fractures to arthritis treatments to total ankle replacement. He loves to treat athletes and has a special place in his heart (and feet) for weekend warriors like himself.

Dr. Hamed Jafary enrolled at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine, in Miami, where he earned his degree in podiatric medicine and surgery. He then spent three years as a surgical resident in the Jackson Health System in Miami, Florida.

Following his residency, Dr. Jafary decided to come back to Los Angeles, his hometown, and complete his fellowship at University Foot and Ankle Institute. “I find podiatry matches my personality since it is a very diverse medical specialty,” says Dr. Jafary. “Being able to do surgery, see patients in the office, and manage hospital patients really keep me active and excited.”

Dr. Jafary specializes in trauma, reconstructive surgery, Charcot reconstruction, Ilizarov external fixation, and sports medicine. He is also a member of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the American Board of Pediatric Medicine.

When not tending to patients at University Foot and Ankle Institute, Dr. Jafary utilizes his surgical expertise to assist those less fortunate. He is a member of the Yucatan Crippled Children Foundation participates in Podiatry Overseas.

I found Dr. Franson for a second opinion, after seeing an orthopedic specialist who misdiagnosed me and was about to cut my foot and ankle open. Dr. Franson put me at ease and ordered the appropriate MRI which the other doctor had not done.

 

He was able to treat me with injections instead and I am so much better. Not to mention a correct diagnosis. He has a wonderful bedside manner and the office and staff are amazing. I have already referred friends to him and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
