I was called the same day to come in an hour earlier for my appointment. I completed a bunch of paperwork in the office and then sat in patient room for 30-45 minutes because no one told the doctor I was there. I was very disappointed with this because I left work for the earlier appointment but actually saw the doctor at my original later appointment time.

I am a longtime patient of Dr. Kelman’s. Have always been very happy with his care. I have recommended Dr. Kelman to several friends and will continue to do so in the future. I think he is an excellent physician and surgeon.

The doctor and staff at University Foot and Ankle Institute are very very professional, caring, friendly and always makes me feel comfortable.I enjoy. going for my regular visits.

I would definitely recommend my friends to go there if they need to see a Podiatrist.

Dr. Kelman is wonderful. He was very thorough in getting the necessary scans of my foot and he communicated clearly to me where the fractures were and how they needed to be treated. I wasn’t the most compliant patient but he let me know what I should and shouldn’t do. His friendliness made it easier to accept what I didn’t want to hear (stay off my foot for 3 months). He also made sure I received therapy afterwards to help regain strength, flexibility, and balance in that foot and leg. I very much appreciated his care.

First time I went, I came out confused. Felt rushed. Shared with front desk person next time I went and she shared with doctor. The second time I saw doctor was totally different experience. Felt doctor listened to concerns and took time to help me understand since foot language is all new to me.

Dr. Gina Nalbandian inspires confidence from the first appointment and is really good at communicating what is going to happen and what I need to focus on to get my ankle back to working order.

Marcie’s is also incredible with follow through on any question or issue that I have and has helped me to cut through the red-tape of insurance companies and the radiologist to get
Me booked into an open MRI.

I only had on frustration with the process with Rolling Oaks Radiology. I had multiple MRI’s that I had to pay for:

- First, only took image of area where tendon had broken off. I am not sure where the communication broke down regarding what area needed to be captured to understand where both ends of the tendon were located. It cost me over $500.00 out of pocket.

- Second, while MRI captured complete area to see both ends of the ruptured tendon to inform us of the surgical prognosis, I still needed another MRI closer to the actual date of surgery. That cost me another $500.00 out of pocket.

- Third MRI did the job so we completely understood the locations and conditions of both ends of the ruptured tendon. This required another $500.00 to $600.00 out of pocket.
